The village was named after the Cory family, who were early settlers in the area. Mount Cory is located approximately 8 miles southeast of the city of Findlay. The village has a total area of 0.16 square miles, all of it being land. The area is mostly rural with a mix of agricultural and residential properties. The village has a small business district with a few local shops and services. The village is also home to Mount Cory Elementary School.
